SANTA ROSA, Calif- Jarin Todd shot a 69-67--136 on Monday to finish the first day of action in a tie for first at the Sonoma State Invitational at the Santa Rosa Golf & Country Club. As a team, the Seawolves shot 13-under in round two to move into second place, nine strokes back of Chico State.
The Wildcats shot a tremendous 15-under 273 in round one to take a commanding early lead. They followed that up with a 281 as scores went low in round two.
Kevin Horan leads the Wildcats, and is tied with Todd atop the leaderboard, at 66-70--136. The low round of the day went to Ryan Sheffer of Notre Dame de Namur, who shot a 65 in round two.
The Seawolves placed all five of their golfers in the top 14 and actually threw out a round of two-under 70 in round two.
Spencer Shishido has been the next best Seawolf behind Todd at 73-69--142.
The tournament concludes with final round action on Tuesday.
