EL PASO, Texas- Sonoma State senior
Jarin Todd was able to overcome some harsh West Texas winds on Monday to shoot 69-71--140 at the 34th Annual Western Refining College All-America Golf Classic at the El Paso Country Club. Todd was one of just five golfers in the 27-man field to break par for the day. He is one of only two non-NCAA Division I golfers competing in the prestigious event.
Todd sits just two strokes back of the individual leader, Corey Nagy of Charlotte (67-71--138). Clemson's Kyle Stanley is in second (71-68--139) and Charlie Holland of Texas (71-69--140) is tied for third with Todd.
The third and final round is set to start at 8:00 am on Tuesday.
Each university that has a player participating in the tournament will receive a $1,000 scholarship. Over the past 33 years, the Sun Bowl Association has donated over $625,000 to collegiate golf through this scholarship program.
