Todd Named CCAA's Most Valuable Golfer

The Seawolves show off their impressive awards haul
PASO ROBLES, Calif-   For the second consecutive year, Sonoma State's Jarin Todd has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Golfer of the Year.  His latest trophy was one of many to be hauled home from the conference tournament by the Seawolves.

Todd led the Seawolves to their first CCAA Championship on Tuesday with a second place finish in the conference tournament.  The nation's top ranked Division II golfer, Todd was named National Player of the year in 2007 and his '08 resumé includes four CCAA Player of the Week awards and three individual championships.

For guiding his squad to the championship, head coach Val Verhunce was named the conference's coach of the year.  The head coach since the team's inaugural season in 2004, Verhunce has steadily built the Seawolves into one of the nation's elite teams.

Freshman Patrick Bauer was named the CCAA Freshman of the Year.  Bauer had a strong finish to the season, including a second place finish at the Buzzini/Stanislaus Invitational and an 11th place standing at the conference tourney.

Joining Todd on the All-CCAA team were seniors Kyle Hopkins and Jacob O'Keefe.  Both were instrumental in leading the Seawolves to their first conference championship.
