ROHNERT PARK, Calif- Sharing the team lead with 13 points this season, senior defender Lindsay Catton was named to the Daktronics NCAA Division II West Region Women's Soccer First Team for the second consecutive year. It was announced Tuesday.

The 5-8 native of Rohnert Park earned first team honors again in 2009 after having another excellent season in the backfield for Sonoma State. Catton scored five goals, including two successful penalty kicks this season while anchoring the defense. She was named to the All-California Collegiate Athletic Association First Team in 2009 for the second time in as many years.

Last season, Catton became the first Sonoma State player to be selected to the First Team All-Region squad since 2002.

Each of the first-team all-region players will now be listed on the Daktronics Division II Women's Soccer All-America ballot. The All-American team will be announced in December.

The Seawolves finished the season 8-9-3 overall and 6-7-3 in conference play.
