NORMAN, Okla- Sonoma State senior
Jarin Todd and sophomore
Patrick Bauer have been named Second Team All-Americans by PING and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The two were instrumental in guiding Sonoma State to the 2009 NCAA Division II National Championship.
Todd, a three-time All-American and two-time National Player of the Year, had another tremendous season in 2008-09. The Redmond, Washington native won two tournaments and posted a stroke average of 71.50. He was under-par in 21 of his 38 rounds. His honor makes him just the fourth three-time All-American in school history, joining Melissa Costa (women's track & field), Amy Apodaca (women's soccer), and Mike Stone (men's track & field).
Bauer, just a sophomore, becomes just the second-athlete in school history to earn All-American honors in his first two years (Costa was the other). The Seawolves' leader at the national tournament, where he finished third overall, Bauer held a stroke average of 72.10 this year and was under par 16 times. He won one tournament, the CSUMB Otter Invitational.
