SSU Men's Golf To Be Featured On CBS Sports

2009 NCAA Champions!
The 2009 NCAA Division II National Champions
CBS will be airing CBS Sports Presents: Championships of the NCAA on Saturday, July 4th at 11:00 am Pacific Time. The Sonoma State University Men's Golf team will be highlighted in a segment as the 2009 NCAA Division II Men's Golf National Champions.

Last May, the Sonoma State men's golf team came from nine strokes back in the final round to win the 2009 NCAA Division II Men's Golf National Championship at the Loomis Trail Golf Course in Blaine, Washington.  It is the third national championship in the history of the school and the first for the men's golf program.

WALNUT CREEK, Calif- To conclude another stellar 2009-2010 season by all 13 intercollegiate teams at Sonoma State University, 49 student-athletes were honored by the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) for their outstanding efforts, not only in competition, but in the classroom as well.

ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  Senior soccer stars Brook Johnson and Lindsay Catton took home top honors on Thursday night at The Wolfies, presented by Outback Steakhouse.  Formerly known as Sonoma State University's Student-Athlete Award Night, The Wolfies honored the best and the brightest from the 2009-10 season.

ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  The winner of the Eighth Annual Sonoma State University Athletics Car Raffle is the North Bay Juniors Volleyball Club of Sonoma County. The winning ticket (#8998) for the 2010 Scion xB from Hansel Toyota was picked out of a total pool of 6,300+ tickets at Driven Raceway in Rohnert Park on Saturday afternoon.

ROHNERT PARK, Calif- Jennifer Russo, President of the Sonoma State University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (S.A.A.C.) has announced that Seawolves' students will once again lead the SSU campus this spring in the participation in the National Donation Campus Challenge, a partnership between organ and tissue donation organizations and college, universities, and other post-secondary institutions across the nation.

ROHNERT PARK, Calif- For the last several weeks, the Sonoma State University Student-Athlete Advisory Committee has been raising funds and collecting basic health care items to help a former Seawolf student-athlete lend a hand to those most affected by the devastating earthquake that hit Haiti on Jan. 12. On Tuesday, leaders of S.A.A.C. handed over a check of $1,000 to SSU volleyball alum Taylor Manton in support of the “Haiti Orphan Project”.
