ROHNERT PARK, Calif- Sophomore Steven Pratt scored a game-high 24 points, including 14 from the free throw line, and Sonoma State held off a late run by visiting San Francisco State to nab the 78-75 victory over the Gators in front of a season-high 1,465 fans at The Wolves' Den on Saturday night. The win pushes the Seawolves to seventh place in the CCAA standings at 7-9 (8-13 overall). The Gators fall to 13-10 overall and 6-9 in the conference.

With the win, the Seawolves salvage a season split with the Gators and move just a half-game out of sixth place in the conference, behind Chico State (7-8).  After a 3-11 start, the Seawolves have won five of their last seven.

San Francisco State got out of the gates quickly, building up a six-point lead at 11-5 with 14:14 to go in the first half.  From that point, the Seawolves went on a 17-5 run to take a six-point lead of their own with just under nine minutes remaining.  The Seawolves would continue to surge, building their lead to eleven at the half, at 35-24.

Early in the second half, the Gators began chipping away at the lead, drawing to within two points at 47-45 with 10:33 left, before Sonoma again built the lead to double digits.

SF State would make one more run in the final minute, slicing the margin to three on a layup by Tim Pratt, but the Seawolves would nail their last eight free throws- six of them by Steven Pratt (no relation)- to preserve the victory.

Steven Pratt finished the night with a game-high 24 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the field and 14-of-18 shooting from the charity stripe.  Patrick Scott also had a big night, posting 20 points and going 8-of-10 from the line.  As a team, the Seawolves connected on 35 of their 47 free throw attempts (74.5%).

Pratt and Brandon Brockmire shared team-high honors with six rebounds and Sterling Arterberry added four assists.

San Francisco State got 22 points from Tim Pratt to lead four scorers in double digits.  Marquel Hoskins finished with 15 points and nine rebounds and Phoenix O'Rourke shot 4-of-8 from three-point territory on his way to 14.

The Seawolves will look to continue their run next weekend when they host Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly Pomona in their final home games of the season.
