Patrick Bauer led the Sonoma State men's golf team to a sixth place finish with a sixth place finish of his own, on Tuesday at the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational at Turlock Country Club. Bauer shot 70-71-75--216 to finish sixth in a field of 89 golfers.
As a team, the Seawolves shot 292 on Tuesday to finish two strokes behind Cal State Monterey Bay, six behind Chico State and seven behind Grand Canyon in a tightly-packed crowd. Cal State Stanislaus and Cal State San Bernardino were tied atop the leaderboard at 871, settling for co-championship honors.
Following Bauer in 19th place was sophomore
Janssen Todd, who shot 73-77-71--221.
Ryan Carter was at 78-74-74--226 and
Tyler Schmuckle was at 78-76-72--226, both tying for 38th.
Jeremy Wendelken finished 46th at 75-74-79--228.
Competing as an individual,
Alex Marry finished 14th at 72-73-75--220.
The individual medalist, Gene Webster of Cal State San Bernardino, carded a spectacular 68-67-63--198 to break
Jarin Todd's tournament record.
The Seawolves will compete in the CCAA Championship next week in Paso Robles, where they will be seeking their third consecutive conference championship.
