Sonoma State University Athletics

Student-Athlete Sash Honors (S.A.S.H.)

As with any university honor, the Student-Athlete Sash Honor (“S.A.S.H.”) is an achievement to be earned and represents the core values of Sonoma State Athletics and our institution.  We are proud to recognize your commitment to excellence not only on our fields and courts, but also in our classrooms.  Student-athletes are presented the S.A.S.H. during the student-athlete graduation ceremony and are encouraged to proudly wear the S.A.S.H. during the commencement ceremonies.  To be eligible to receive a S.A.S.H., you must fulfill the following requirements:

     1.  Graduated or are planning on graduating within the subsequent semester;
     2.  Nominated by the Head Coach to receive the S.A.S.H.; and
     3.  Fulfilled at least one (1) of the following factors:

          ?  On the official roster the year you graduated;
          ?  Finished/exhausted your eligibility while rostered at SSU;
          ?  Finished your eligibility within the subsequent semester while rostered at SSU; or
          ?  Sustained a career ending injury while rostered at SSU.

NOTE:  Nominations are due from each program by April 1st.  The head coach may file an exception with the compliance office for any student-athlete who they wish to have honored, but does not meet requirements (1) or (3).  The Director of Athletics maintains the discretion to honor or not honor any student-athlete as seen deserving within the spirit of the award.
