One of the top head coaches in Sonoma State history, Peter's name is synonymous with the great SSU soccer teams of the late 80's and early 90's. He guided the women's club to five straight NCAC titles in the 1990's and five straight appearances in the NCAA playoffs. In 1990, his squad capped off a magical season by winning the school's first-ever NCAA championship. The '90 women's soccer team was the first team inducted into the SSU Athletics Hall of Fame, in 2001.
In his 12-year tenure with thte women's squad, Peter compiled an outstandingrecord of 146-57-15 while coaching 12 All-Americans. He also simultaneously coached the men's team until 1991.
A four-time NCAC Coach of the Year, Reynaud earned National COach of the Year hoors in 1990. He has served on numerous committees including the NCAA Championship Committee (1985-87), the NCAA Rules Committee (1990-93), the Western Region All-American Committee (1994-95), the NCAA Western Regional Ranking Committee (1990-93), and as the chair of the Intercollegiate Soccer Association of America Western Region Ranking Committee (1990-95). He coached two years with the state Olympic Development Program and one year with the Region Olympic Development Program.
Reynaud earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from California State University, Hayward in 1975 and obtained his California Teaching Credentials from CSU, Hayward in 1976. He was an assistant at Cal Berkeley in 1985 and was the head coach in 1986. In 1995, Reynaud started the women's soccer program at Fresno State and went on to coach at Long Beach State University.
