BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Sonoma State women's water polo team dropped its opening match of the Roadrunner Invitational 15-7 to Cal Baptist Saturday morning.
The Seawolves (1-5) played a tight match early on as they ended the first period tied 2-2 with the Lancers. However, the Lancers (1-2) exploded for six goals in the second period to take an 8-3 lead at halftime. Cal Baptist came out and put up four more goals in the third period and cruised to a 15-7 victory.
Samantha Mullins lead the Seawolves is scoring with a career-high four goals.
Jenna Bole, Tasha Thiele and
Courtney Rider each posted one goal.
The Seawolves are back in action this afternoon when they take on Cal Lutheran at 4:30 pm in Bakersfield.
