Lions Cruise Past Seawolves, 15-4

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Sonoma State women's water polo team fell behind early and was unable to mount a comeback against tournament host, No. 11 Loyola Marymount, as the fell 15-4.

The Seawolves (17-16 overall, 7-9 WWPA) fell behind 5-0 after the first period and tralied 10-1 at the break. The Lions then held SSU scoreless in the third period while extending their lead to 12-1. SSU netted three goals in the fourth period, but it wasn't enough as LUM won 15-4.

Samantha Burchard scored two goals, each in the fourth period, to lead the Seawolves. Jessica Scott and Tasha Thiele each added one.

Sonoma State is back in action tomorrow morning when they play WWPA rival, Cal State San Bernardino, at 8:00 am.
