SAN JOSE, Calif- Despite a couple of close matches, the Sonoma State women's tennis team was shut out in their spring season opener against San Jose State on Friday afternoon, 7-0. The Seawolves start the season at 0-1 while the Spartans go to 1-0.
SSU lost all three doubles matches, two of them by 8-5 scores. In singles,
Mary Bulich won her first set at No. 5 before falling 3-6, 6-1 (10-7).
Stephanie Luk also put up a strong effort at No. 1 before losing 6-3, 7-5.
The Seawolves continue their season next Friday against another NCAA Division I opponent, UC Davis.
