Santa Rosa, Calif. – Seawolves claimed its conference opener 9-6 over the Gators of San Francisco. Sonoma State up 14-8 game two came to a halt in the middle of the fifth inning. 
 
Sonoma State 9, San Francisco State 6
Three home runs helped the Seawolves edge the Gators 9-6 in the first game of conference play.
 
Seawolves attacked first scoring, early when 
Cameron Kirtlan struck a two-run homer to right field.   
 
After hitting through the lineup once, Kirtlan stepped up to the plate in the second inning to score 
Alee Balanon and 
Julie Davis with a double to left center. Lindsey Calcany-Blair brought Kirtlan in with a single to left field to give the Seawolves a 5-0 hold over the Gators. 
 
Following a silent third inning by Sonoma State, San Francisco State chipped away and added a run to the board for a 5-1 score.
 
Kirtlan crossed the plate for the third time, taking advantage of a throwing error from beyond the dish making it 6-1.
 
A four-run fifth inning by the Gators put them within one run of the Seawolves 6-5. 
 
Courtney Jack helped the Seawolves bounce back from the fifth with a two-run homer to center field, scoring herself and 
Michelle Santiago.
 
Top of the seventh, Balanon knocked a first-pitch bomb over left center to give the Seawolves 9-5 insurance entering the final half inning. 
 
The Gators took one more swing at a comeback, scoring off a sac to left field, the Seawolves defense held them off from crossing the plate again.
