Sonoma State held San Bernardino to a single hit in Saturday's conference tournament match-up. In a neck an neck battle for four innings. It only took one. One inning, for the Seawolves, to not only beat the Coyotes but in a five-inning run-rule victorious fashion!
Brielle Vidmar served up four three-up-three-down innings.
Lindsey Calcany Blair led off the bottom of the fifth with a first-pitch single to third base, followed by a single hit by
Courtney Jack. Calcany Blair advanced to third placing Seawolves on first and third. In the attempt to double steal Calcany Blair was rung up.
Julie Davis doubled to right center, trading places with Jack to the game's first run. The Coyotes made an error, placing Seawolves on the corners once again.
Jordyn Martinez and
Jordann White both singled, bringing in a run each time (3-0). The Coyotes tried to slow the Seawolves momentum down with a change in the circle, but despite the switch, the Seawolves
Nicole Renner doubled down the left field line to score Martinez. White crossed the plate off the Coyotes second error of the game.
The Seawolves hit through the lineup, as Calcany Blair took to the plate for the second time in the fifth. She knocked a single through the left side to score Renner (6-0).
Jack, stepped up. With two outs, she hit a first-pitch walk-off three-run home run over center field to send the Seawolves to the 'ship in dramatic fashion.
