Rohnert Park, Ca- Robert Salerno lit up the Wolves Den scoring 19 points and netting 5 three pointers in a 79- 67 win over Humboldt State.
SSU has won 2 of the last 3 and hopes to keep the roll going and finish strong in what has been a difficult season overall.
The team was balanced in scoring with 4 Seawolves scoring in double figures on the night.
Nick Klarman had 15,
Michael Smith 12 and
Isaac Davidson finished with 10 points.
Tej Johnson and
Eric Nielsen also contributed to the win with some big plays coming off the bench.
Sonoma State led throughout, although the Jacks continued to make runs. SSU was up 37-31 at the half and stretched the lead to double digits early in the second half. The Seawolves would come up with clutch plays all night long on both ends of the floor.
SSU shot 48% from the floor but earned the win with some big plays on defense, leading to 24 points off Humboldt State turnovers.
Sonoma State will play a single game next with with conference rival Chico State, on the road Saturday night, before concluding the season at home the following weekend..
