ROHNERT PARK, CALIF. - Day two of the Western Washington Volleyball Invitational resumed today as the Sonoma State women's volleyball program looked to get their first win of the season against Central Washington. The Seawolves would compete in another two matches today to conclude the two-day tournament in Washington.
In the first match, SSU would go on to drop the first set but would bounce back in a big way and dominate the second set, winning 25-15. Head coach
Bear Grassl and his squad would take 8 of the last 9 points in the second set with kills from
Jessie Hobbs and
Emily Eaton. The Seawolves would drop the third set 14-25 and would be forced to win the fourth and force a fifth and final set.
Despite being down as many as 10 points in the fourth set, the Seawolves were able to put a rally together as they brought the set to within 4 points down the stretch.
Emily Eaton and
Leilani Hallman helped to earn 5 of 6 straight points for Sonoma State to make it 17-21. However, it was too late for the Seawolves as both teams exchanged points down the stretch allowing Central Washington to ultimately take the set 25-20 and win the match 3-1.
Emily Eaton and
Jessie Hobbs each had double digit kills for the match to lead the team. Brynna Slayotn recorded a team and game high 24 assists and
Riley Beyma would lead the Seawolves with 15 digs. SSU would break for the afternoon and then resume play against Chaminade to finish off their two-day tournament in Washington.
The Seawolves would close out their weekend in the WWU Volleyball Invitational with a 0-3 match defeat to Chaminade. Grassl and his group made it tough on Chaminade, losing by only 5 points in the first set and just 3 points in the second. Outside hitter

Jennifer Trephan would also lead all players recording 18 assists on the night.
After scoring 6 of 7 straight points in the second set with kills from
