OAKLAND – The Sonoma State women's basketball team used a potent offensive display on Saturday to storm past Holy Names 87-42. The Seawolves shot a season best 52 from the field and held a 49-20 rebounding advantage to pick up their second win of the season.

Alli McDonald opened the game with a score before
Cielo Gonzalez knocked down a 3-pointer and added another bucket.
Chasity Spady added the final basket before the Hawks ended the run. The Seawolves margin moved to as many as 13 in the period with
Camille Johnson recording back-to-back baskets and
Emerson Herrmann adding one of her own.
Herrmann opened the second with another basketball and the lead swelled to 17 later in the quarter.
Donnelli Allen finished off the half with a layup to make it a 35-19 game at the break.
The Seawolves came out strong once again to open the second half, using back-to-back triple from Gonzalez and Spady to push their advantage to 22 less than two minutes into the third. McDonald added two more baskets to cap off a 10-0 run. Herrmann would later score three more buckets in the quarter to go ahead by 31.
Sonoma State was even more potent in the fourth quarter, scoring a game high 29 points and ending the contest on a 21-4 run over the final eight minutes. McDonald scored ten points in the fourth, including eight in a 1:20 span to push the Seawolves to a 45-point victory. The margin was the largest for the program since 2014.
McDonald led all players with 18 points and 13 rebounds while adding two steals and two blocks. Herrmann tacked on a career high 16 points on 7 of 11 shooting. Johnson and Spady also finished in double-figures with 11 points apiece.
The Seawolves defense shined, limiting the Hawks to just 23% from the field and 20 rebounds for the entire contest.
Sonoma State is opens CCAA play next week with road contests against Cal State East Bay on Thursday and Cal State Dominguez Hills on Saturday.
