Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

Seawolves Push Winning Streak to Three with 85-72 Win Over Western Oregon

ROHNERT PARK, CALIF.- The Ron Logsdon Basketball Challenge has officially closed and Sonoma State Men's Basketball managed a 2-0 record over the weekend! The Seawolves faced off against the Wolves of Western Oregon in a game that coach Rich Shayewitz's squad controlled from tip-off to final buzzer.

The James Nobles breakout is officially upon us. The junior from North Hollywood has been a force across his first four games of the season and the Wolves are the latest team that has failed to contain the Seawolves guard. Nobles dominated in every facet of the evening. He had a game high and career high 25 points on a stellar 67% shooting percentage. He also drilled three shots from behind the arc and earned eight more trips to the free throw line. He Has been unstoppable in the paint with 40 free throw attempts in four games. He also pulled down 11 boards, dished out six assists and had two huge rejections. Nobles is off to an All-Conference caliber start to his second season in the Wolves Den!

Alongside Nobles, starting point guard Nick Medeiros has also emerged as a viable floor general. Medeiros is now up to 14.8 points per game after dropping 22 points on the visiting Wolves. Medeiros' midrange game has been outstanding as he has navigated screens with efficiency and has punished teams who allow him to rise up from the elbows.

Newcomer Jakob Milling has started to find a grove on the offensive end of the court. Milling has battled foul trouble through some of his early appearances but against Western Oregon he stuffed the statsheet. He was efficient from the floor with 17 points to the tune of three made threes and 7-9 shooting. He also handed out three assists and grabbed five rebounds.

Alongside Milling, Julian Bryant had a "get right" game as he too has been plagued by foul trouble. Bryant's versatility was on full display as his 10 points came in a multitude of ways. He knocked down a three, hit a turnaround jumper and put pressure on the basket with his ability to drive to the rim. He was also a handful on the glass with seven boards, two of which were of the offensive variety, and he swiped two steals. Bryant getting back into a groove was a great sign of things to come for the veteran wing.

The Seawolves have enjoyed a four game homestand and will now head down to San Francisco for a two game, neutral site series hosted by CCAA rival San Francisco State. They will take on Menlo College on November 22nd with tip-off set for 5:30 PM!
