Men’s Basketball Battles Down to the Wire in Final Regular Season Game of the Year

ARCATA, CALIF.- Sonoma State Men's Basketball stepped onto the court for one final game of the 2024-2205 season with a showdown against the Lumberjacks of Cal Poly Humboldt. For 40 minutes the Seawolves battled against their CCAA rival but unfortunately fell by a final score of 64-75.

Forward Jakob Milling has put together his best stretch of basketball over the past two weeks and his season finale was his best effort yet. Milling was on the court for 30 minutes and proceeded to dominate both as a scoring threat and rebounder. Milling poured in a season high 25 points giving him three 20 plus point outings in three of his last four games. His scoring game in a variety of ways at all three levels including hitting three shots from deep. Milling ended the season hitting 10 threes over his last four games and also pulled down a season high 12 rebounds including a game high five offensive boards.

Alongside Milling, Chris Holley had a solid showing in the season finale. Holley scored 15 points on a very efficient 7-11 shooting display. For good measure he pulled in two rebounds and handed out three assists. Holley had an outstanding string of games during conference play finishing the CCAA portion of the schedule with averages of 13.3 points and 4.9 assists per game. Holley reached double digits in scoring 15 times across 18 starts while also posting the best assists to turnover ratio and the third most assists in the CCAA.

The Seawolves finished the year battling as they have all season long. It was a solid team effort led by a pair of the team's top players. For the year five different players averaged double figures in scoring while also serving as the top three point shooting team in the conference.
