Since leaving her mark in Sonoma State's record books, no other pitcher at SSU has ever come close to breaking Brenda's unbelievable softball pitching records. Her dominating performances day in and day out are the reason Brenda Scally is the greatest pitcher that ever wore Sonoma State blue.
Brenda holds just about every school pitching record...and second place isn't even close. She is the school's all-time leader in wins (73), innings pitched (771.1) and strikeouts (403). She has 39 more victories in her career than second place, 321 more strikeouts, and has pitched 394 more innings. Her 1.18 ERA is third best all-time and she currently holds the top spots in single season victories (21) and strikeouts (169). In 1996, Brenda finished 21st in the country with a miniscule 1.11 ERA. SHe blew that record away in 1997 when she finished with a 0.94 ERA good for 16th in the country.
Not only was she a force on the mound, but she was a fierce competitor at the plate as well. Her 23 doubles is fourth in school history. She's also seventh in hits with 152 and third in RBI with 71.
In her outstanding playing career, Brenda earned All-Conference honors every year and was awarded Second Team All-West Region accolades in 1996. In 1997 she was named to the All Spring Festival Tournament and she was recognized as SSU's Female Athlete of the Year.
