Seawolves Net Late Goal In Season-Opening Victory

ROHNERT PARK, Calif- Junior Taylor Colacion headed a pass from freshman Lauren Fryer into the upper right corner of the net with just 26 seconds remaining in regulation, giving Sonoma State a narrow 2-1 victory over visiting Western Oregon on Thursday afternoon. It was the season-opener for both squads. The Seawolves are now 16-6-3 on opening day and have won the last five openers.

SSU Set To Host Seawolf Spike Friday, Saturday

The fifth annual Seawolf Spike comes to SSU this weekend.

ROHNERT PARK, Calif- The Sonoma State women's volleyball team is set to host the fifth annual Seawolf Spike this weekend on the campus of Sonoma State University. The Seawolves, who will open their 2010 campaign with four matches during Friday and Saturday's tournament, will welcome seven schools from around the west region, including three other California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) opponents.

ROHNERT PARK, Calif- Junior Cam Vickers scored in the 73rd minute and Sonoma State outshot the visiting Saint Mary's Gaels, 16-13, but the Seawolves came up short, losing 4-1 in their last exhibition match before the regular season starts on Sept. 4 at Fresno Pacific.

STANFORD, Calif- With just a couple more tuneups before the season opener on Sept. 4 at Fresno Pacific, the Sonoma State men's soccer team traveled to the south bay to take on NCAA Division I Stanford in an exhibition friendly on Sunday afternoon. The Seawolves held their own against the Cardinal, who are picked to finish second in the Pac-10 this season, but fell 3-2.

Volleyball Ranked 21st In AVCA Preseason Poll

ROHNERT PARK, Calif- For the first time in school history, the Sonoma State women's volleyball team will head into its first match ranked as one of the top 25 teams in the nation. In a preseason coaches poll released by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) this week, the Seawolves are ranked 21st in the national poll.

Women's Soccer Picked To Finish Second In North

WALNUT CREEK, Calif- After suffering through an uncharacteristically down season in 2009, thanks to countless injuries that continued to plague the lineup, the Sonoma State women’s soccer team will look to rebound to the team they once used to be. That said, the Seawolves have been picked to finish second in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) North Division for the second straight year, according to a preseason vote by the conference's head coaches.

Men's Soccer Is Coaches Pick To Claim CCAA Title

WALNUT CREEK, Calif- After a preseason vote of coaches in the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), the nationally-ranked Sonoma State men's soccer team has been selected to win the North Division for the seventh consecutive season. The coaches also recognized the Seawolves as the favorites to claim the 2010 CCAA Championship Tournament title that will be held at Warrior Stadium on the campus of Cal State Stanislaus in Turlock on Nov. 5-7.
