LA JOLLA, Calif-  Sonoma State's struggles on the baseball diamond continued on Saturday afternoon as No. 2 UC San Diego pulled off a doubleheader sweep at Triton Ballpark in La Jolla.  UCSD took game one 9-7 before coming back for a 4-3 win in the nightcap with two runs in the bottom of the seventh.  The Seawolves fall to 9-12, 2-9 CCAA.  The Tritons (22-3, 13-2 CCAA) have now won the first three games of the series and will go for the sweep on Sunday morning.

POMONA, Calif-  In a match pitting a pair of nationally ranked west region foes, fifth-ranked Hawaii Pacific defeated 36th-ranked Sonoma State 6-1 in men's tennis action on Saturday in Pomona.  The loss drops the Seawolves to 4-5 on the season.

SAN BERNARDINO, Calif- After taking two out of three from Cal State San Bernardino in doubles play, the Sonoma State women's tennis team won four of the six singles matches, rolling to a 6-3 victory over the Coyotes on Friday afternoon. The Seawolves, ranked 45th in the nation, improve to 6-4 overall and 4-3 in west region play. The Coyote remain winless at 0-6.

LA JOLLA, Calif- Connor Olson and Taylor Bianco notched two victories on Friday afternoon -- one as partners at the No. 1 doubles position, the other as the No. 1 and No. 2 singles spot, respectively -- but UC San Diego's Vincent Nguyen outlasted Quan Vu in the deciding match as the Tritons clawed out a 5-4 victory over Sonoma State in La Jolla. The Seawolves fall even at 4-4 and the Tritons move to 8-5.

LA JOLLA, Calif- Ranked second in the nation, UC San Diego jumped ahead quickly, scoring seven runs in the bottom of the second -- all with two outs -- and adding three more insurance runs later, while Sonoma State narrowly avoided a shutout with two runs in the final inning as the Tritons took care of business on Friday afternoon, 10-2, at Triton Ballpark in La Jolla. The Seawolves fall to under .500 again at 9-10 overall and 2-7 in CCAA play. The Tritons won their 20th game, improving to 20-3 and 11-2 in the conference.

ROHNERT PARK, Calif- With rain falling in the Sonoma Valley and more in the forecast on Friday, the highly-anticipated softball series between Sonoma State and Cal State Monterey Bay has been shifted to Saturday and Sunday. Saturday's doubleheader will start at 1 p.m. and the Seawolves and Otters will wrap up their four-game series on Sunday with a twinbill, beginning at Noon.
