HOUSTON, Texas- The Sonoma State men's golf team slipped to 18th place on Friday with a team score of 302 at the NCAA Division II National Championship in Houston, Texas.
Jarin Todd led the way for the Seawolves with a two-over 72.
Sonoma State, which entered the tournament ranked No. 2 in the nation and a favorite to capture the title, has had a nightmare of a tournament. SSU slumped 19 strokes back after round one and they now see their deficit at 36 strokes. The Seawolves are 39 over for the tournament.
West Florida, which struggled in round one with a 292, has countered with rounds of 275 and 276 to take a four-stroke lead. They are the No. 1 ranked team in the nation.
The tournament will conclude with a single round on Saturday.
