Samantha Burchard capped off a fantastic senior season last week when it was announced that she was selected to the All-Western Water Polo Association Second Team.
Burchard finished second on the team with 43 goals and 25 assists. She also accumulated 20 steals and averaged nearly a goal and a half per game.
In February, Burchard picked up WWPA Player of the Week honors following a school record-setting six goal performance against the University of the Pacific.
Amanda Ortiz of Cal State Bakersfield was named the WWPA's Player of the Year. Her teammate, Veronica Campbell, was named Newcomer of the Year and UC Davis' Jamey Wright earned Coach of the Year honors.
