MOBILE, Ala- Connor Olson dropped a pair of matches but finished eighth in the NCAA Division II Singles Division at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association National Small College Championships in Mobile, Ala. on Friday.

After Thursday's heartbreaking, two hour and 45 minute loss to Western New Mexico's Yair Banuelos in the quarterfinal round, Olson matched up with Ryan Ward of Washburn College (Kentucky) but fell 6-0, 6-1 in the back draw of the division II singles tournament. Then, Marc Rosner from West Virginia Wesleyan defeated Olson (6-2, 6-4) in the seventh place match.

For the tournament championship, the top two seeds (Philip Pakebusch of Valdosta and Andrey Boldarev of Concordia College) will face off at 8:30 a.m. CDT on Saturday.
