POMONA, Calif- Sonoma State's Anthony Rollins and Conner Olson won both matches on Thursday afternoon to advance to the Round of Eight in the singles bracket at the 2009 Wilson/ITA Men's Tennis Championship hosted by Cal Poly Pomona.

Rollins defeated Sebastian Guevara of Grand Canyon (6-3, 6-2) before topping Joshua Lau of Cal Poly Pomona (5-7, 6-4 (9)) for a chance to compete in amongst eight remaining competitors in the singles tournament on Friday. Olson is also one of the top eight remaining, defeating Bryce Melcher (Grand Canyon) 6-0, 6-0 and Alex Placek (UC San Diego) 6-4, 6-1.

In the doubles tournament, Quan Vu and Bryce Keefer swept the Grand Canyon team of Damon Mays and Melcher to move onto the Round of Eight on Friday at 3 p.m. Olson and partner Taylor Bianco also moved onto the next round following the defeat of Cal Poly Pomona's pair of Kevin Singer and James Lee.
