POMONA, Calif- All three Sonoma State women's tennis doubles teams moved on to the Round of 16 Thursday afternoon, and Caroline Houston and Molly Maguire also landed in the singles Round of 16 at the 2009 Wilson/ITA Women's Tennis Regional Championship hosted by Cal Poly Pomona.

The doubles teams (Stephanie Luk/Maguire, Houston/Jeanette Peck, and Haley Hickock/Stephanie Hoffmire) all defeated their first round opponents and will compete today at 2 p.m. for the chance to move on to the Round of Eight at 3:30 p.m.

In the singles tournament, Peck notched a first-round upset Thursday morning, defeating Cal State Stanislaus' Katie Eng, who is ranked No. 14 in the West Region. However, Peck fell to No. 1 seed Jia Yuan (BYU-Hawaii) in the second round. Five of the other six Seawolves moved on to the second round as well, but only Houston and Maguire broke through to the Round of 16. They will compete for a spot in the Round of Eight this morning.
