SANTA ROSA, Calif-  Chico State shot the low-round of the day, a 286, to earn the team victory on Tuesday at the Sonoma State Men's Golf Invitational at Santa Rosa Golf & Country Club.  It was the third straight win in the event for the seventh-ranked Wildcats.  Sonoma State finished the day right where it started, in seventh place.

The Wildcats entered Tuesday's action in second place, three strokes behind Western Washington.  However, the Vikings fell off the pace, shooting a 296 to finish in a tie for third place with Saint Martin's.  Chico State's two-round total was 578, a very good score on a course that played high due to rainy conditions on Monday.

Dixie State, after shooting a 297 on Monday, tied Chico's 286 to finish in second place at 583.

The Wildcats had two of the top three finishers, second place Kyle Souza (70-69--139) and third place Eric Frazzetta (71-70--141).

In addition, Chico State's Bobby Bucey achieved the first hole-in-one in the tournament's history, on the 146-yard sixth hole.

Individual medalist honors went to Matthew Garcia of the Academy of Art, who fired a 68-70--138.

Sonoma State finished in seventh place for the third consecutive time this fall.  The Seawolves followed Monday's 297 with a 294 to finish at 591, 13 strokes behind Chico.

Freshman Alex Marry was the Seawolves' top individual finisher, in 13th at 73-73--146.  Junior Patrick Bauer fired a 73-74--147 to finish in 20th.

Janssen Todd (75-73--148) finished 23rd, Ryan Carter (76-74--150) was 33rd, and Cole Pickavance (79-82--161) was 71st.

Sonoma State also entered a second team in the competition, which was comprised of Jeremy Wendelken (75-74--149, 28th), Keith Rodriguez (73-77--150, 33rd), Josh George (79-72--151, 40th), and Tyler Schmuckle (80-77--157).
