Seawolves Finish 9th At CCAA Championship Meet

McKINLEYVILLE, Calif-  Competing without No. 1 runner Katie Bolce, the Sonoma State cross country team managed a ninth place finish on Saturday at the CCAA Championship Meet at Beau Pre Golf Course in McKinleyville.  Freshman Rachel Borg was the Seawolves' top finisher.

Borg ran the 6-kilometer course in 25:00 to finish 48th overall.  Elizabeth Bloom, Carly McCready, Meaghan O'Day, and Sablle Scheppmann also scored points for the Seawolves.

The Seawolves compiled 270 points to sit 79 behind Cal State San Bernardino.  Cal State Stanislaus and San Francisco State, two teams the Seawolves have competed neck-and-neck with this season, finished fifth and seventh respectively.

2009 marks the fifth consecutive year that the Seawolves have finished ninth in the conference meet.

Chico State (33) used a dominating performance to defeat UC San Diego (84) for their second consecutive title and third in the last four years.
