POMONA, Calif-  The run of Stephanie Luk and Molly Maguire at the Wilson/ITA West Region Championships came to an end on Saturday when the duo lost in the semifinal round to Yuan Jia and Jenny Chin of BYU-Hawaii.  They were the only Seawolves in action on Saturday afternoon.

In Friday's action, Caroline Houston was defeated in singles play by Vanesa Reibstein of Cal State Stanislaus, one of the region's top players, 6-3, 6-4.  It was a solid effort in Houston's debut with the Sonoma State tennis program.

Also in singles play on Friday, Molly Maguire was handed a 6-2, 6-3 defeat by Jillian Sangria of Cal State L.A..

In doubles action played Friday, Luk and Maguire won their Round of 16 match against Blattner and Buchanan of Cal Poly Pomona in decisive fashion, 8-0.  The victory allowed the pair to advance to Saturday's semis.

After defeating a Dixie State duo in the Round of 16, Haley Hickock and Stephanie Hoffmire lost to Stanislaus' No. 2 doubles team, 8-2.

Jeanette Peck and Caroline Houston were defeated by the top Cal Poly Pomona squad, 8-3.
