SAN FRANCISCO, Calif- Behind a 13th place overall finish from sophomore
Katie Bolce, the Sonoma State women's cross country team ran to a ninth place finish at the Gator Invitational on Friday afternoon in San Francisco. Bolce ran the 6k course in 22:49 to put her 11th among NCAA Division II competitors.
The Seawolves got a 44th place finish from freshman
Rachel Borg, who crossed the line in 23:55. Meaghan O'Day (66th, 24:26),
Carly McCready (99th, 25:16), and
Sablle Scheppmann (111th, 25:44) were the other scorers for Sonoma State.
The Seawolves used the event as a chance to let a total of 11 runners compete.
As a team, the Seawolves were just eight points ahead of conference rival San Francisco State and well ahead of Cal State Monterey Bay.
Alaska Anchorage took the team title with a perfect 15 points.
The Seawolves are back in action at the CCAA Championships on October 24th in Humboldt.
