Seawolves Fall To Division I San Francisco, 49-36

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif- Sonoma State held Division I San Francisco to just 28 percent shooting but the Dons grabbed 21 offensive rebounds and scored 19 points off turnovers in defeating the Seawolves 49-36 on Wednesday night at War Memorial Gym in San Francisco. It was the final exhibition tune-up for Sonoma State before it opens up regular season play on Nov. 20 against Texas A&M-International at the Coslet Classic in Chico.

Sonoma State held a one point lead with 11:07 remaining the in first half after a layup by senior Stephanie Barnes but San Francisco scored the next seven points and held off the Seawolves for the 22-15 lead at halftime.

Despite shooting 32 percent in the second half, Sonoma State couldn't get within seven points of the Dons the rest of the way, as San Francisco pulled out the 11 point victory.

Sophomore Jaclyn Bisordi scored a team-high six points and five others scored four points.Senior Stephanie Barnes and sophomore Christy Shreve grabbed five rebounds for Sonoma State but San Francisco held the advantage on the glass, outrebounding the Seawolves 43-36.

The Dons were led by the eight points of Donnisha Taylor and nine rebounds of Tawny Drexler.
