CHICO, Calif- Texas A&M-International held a nine point lead early in the second half but Sonoma State outscored the Dust Devils 31-14 in the final 13 minutes of play to win its first game of the season, 68-60, on Friday evening at the Coslet Classic in Chico.
The Seawolves scored the first points of the game via a jumper by senior
Jennifer Russo just 1:19 into the contest but Texas A&M-International's Erika Rosas scored a three-pointer to put the Dust Devils ahead 3-2 in the early going. Sonoma State would continue to play from behind in the first half as they never led again until senior
Stephanie Barnes gave the Seawolves a 52-51 lead with 7:39 remaining in the game.
The game went back and forth for the next couple of minutes but the Seawolves went on an eight-point run over the next three minutes to put themselves in the lead at 57-66 with under a minute left. A three pointer by TAMIU's Mary Tobias brought the Dust Devils to within six but two free throws by sophomore
Jaclyn Bisordi would seal the deal, giving Sonoma State the 68-60 victory in its season opener.

Christy Shreve led the Seawolves with 13 points and junior
Oly Larkin had a team-high eight rebounds in the victory. Barnes added eight points, six rebounds and five steals.
For Texas A&M-International, Tobias had a game-high 24 points on 9-of-12 shooting, inlcluding 6-of-7 beyond the three-point arc. Johnna Williams added a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Sonoma State will return to action Saturday evening at 5:30 p.m. to take on Notre Dame de Namur on the second and final day of the Coslet Classic, hosted by Chico State.
