Seawolves Fall In Exhibition Game To Olympic Club

Laurel Stricklin scored two goals in the exhibition match on Sunday.
ROHNERT PARK, Calif- Junior Holly Armijo and senior Laurel Stricklin combined for five goals, but Sonoma State couldn't overcome a four-goal deficit in the first half, falling 11-9 to Olympic Club in women's water polo exhibition play at the Dr. G Edward Rudloff Pool at Sonoma State University on Sunday afternoon.

Armijo led the way for the Seawolves with three goals and Stricklin added two. Juniors Kelsey Lowy and Emily Pearce both scored for Sonoma State as well. Junior goalie Gina Uliana made six saves between the posts.

Sonoma State will kick off its 2010 season when the Seawolves travel to the Northern California Invitational in Berkeley on Jan. 30-31. They will take on UC Santa Barbara, California, Santa Clara and San Jose State over the two-day tournament. The Seawolves first home game is scheduled for Feb. 20 against Cal Lutheran, kicking off the two-day Seawolf Splash.
