Laurel Stricklin has been named the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) Co-Player of the Week. It was announced by the WWPA on Wednesday.
In 13 matches played this season, Stricklin has scored 31 goals in 72 attempts and has recorded five assists. She averages 2.4 goals a match. With 154 career goals, Stricklin needs just 34 goals to become Sonoma State's all-time leader in goals scored in a career.
Stricklin shares this week's honor with Loyola Marymount's Anne Scott, who scored five goals in a 10-4 victory over UC San Diego on Saturday.
Sonoma State will head into the Aggie Shootout, hosted by UC Davis, on Mar. 6 with a 2-11 overall record and 0-3 in WWPA play. All 11 losses have come against teams ranked in the Collegiate Water Polo Association Top 20 poll.
