ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  The Sonoma State women's basketball team shot just 28% from the field on Saturday night on their way to a 60-47 defeat at the hands of San Francisco State in CCAA action at The Wolves' Den in Rohnert Park.  The loss is the third in the row for the Seawolves as they fall to 9-12, 7-9 CCAA.  The Gators improve to 10-13, 6-9 CCAA.

It was a slow start for both teams as neither could find any offensive rhythm.  The game hit the second media timeout of the first half, ten minutes in, with an 8-8 score.  With the score volleying back and forth and ties occurring at five different points in the first half, the Gators get the upper hand near the end of the period and enter the break up two at 28-26.

As in the first half, the teams continued to struggle offensively at the beginning of the second half, combining for just five points in the first five minutes.

Midway through the second, San Francisco State got their shooters in gear, tearing off a 15-4 run to build up a 13-point lead at 45-32.  Sonoma State would be able to get the lead under ten on a couple of occasions, but for every bucket they recorded, the Gators had a way of answering with one of their own.

Donisha Tate had a huge game for the Gators, finishing with 13 points and 15 rebounds.  Andrea Ohlssen was also a factor from long distance, dialing up four three-pointers for 12 points.

Sonoma State shot just 18-of-64 from the field in the, good for 28.1%.  Nadia Williams and Kelsey Wagner had eight points each off the bench.  The Sonoma State bench would outscore their starting five 33-14.

Sonoma State will stay home next weekend to host Cal State San Bernardino and Cal Poly Pomona in their final home games of the 2009-10 season.

Box Score:  San Francisco State 60, Sonoma State 47
