Women's Tennis Cruises To Second Straight 9-0 Win

Jessica Harris improved to 11-2 in dual matches this season.

ROHNERT PARK, Calif- After dispatching Dominican 9-0 on Wednesday, the Sonoma State women's tennis team did so once more, but at the expense of visiting Southern Oregon on Friday at the SSU Tennis Courts. The win sends the 45th-ranked Seawolves to 8-5 this season, while the Raiders fall to 3-5.

After winning 8-0 at the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, Stephanie Luk and Molly Maguire faced a tough duo in Allison Bostrom and Lexi Thomas at the No. 1 position, but pulled out a 8-6 win to clinch the Sonoma State sweep in the doubles event.

Jessica Harris continued her win streak at the No. 5 singles position with a 6-0, 6-0 win over Southern Oregon's Emma Wilson -- Harris has won eight straight singles matches while improving to 11-2 in dual matches. Stephanie Hoffmire and Haley Hickock won in their singles match by identical scores of 6-0, 6-1. Luk defeated Bostrom 6-1, 6-0 and Geri Richards won her second match of the season with a 6-0, 6-4 decision at the No. 6 spot.

Maguire outlasted her opponent, Addie Morrow, with a 7-6 (7-2), 6-4 win at the No. 3 position.

Sonoma State will travel to San Jose State on Tuesday to take on the Spartans at 2 p.m. before return home to host Cal State L.A. in a conference match up on Mar. 26.
