Janssen Todd and
Jeremy Wendelken shot a 76 in the third and final round, helping Sonoma State to take home first place at the Southern California Intercollegiate at Mission Viejo Country Club on Tuesday. The Seawolves have now won two consecutive tournaments and three overall, including one in October.
Todd carded a team-high 225 in the three rounds, finishing tied for fourth in the field of 59 golfers. Wendelken matched Todd on the final day after shooting two rounds of 77 on Monday, but finished a stroke behind
Patrick Bauer overall, as the two finished with 230 and 229 stokes, respectively.
Ryan Carter (72-80-83--235) tied for 15th and
Alex Marry (79-81-87--247) tied for 36th overall, helping the Seawolves to a first place finish.
Sonoma State (919) bested St. Edwards (929) by ten strokes and Cal State San Bernardino finished third with a team score of 936.
St. Edwards' Collin Mayer (71-73-76--220) took home the overall individual title, despite shooting a five-over 76 on Tuesday.
The Seawolves will take a two week break before returning to action at the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational in Turlock on Apr. 12-13.
