Patrick Bauer's two-over 74 on Tuesday, the Sonoma State men's golf team sits 14 strokes out of the lead after one round at the 2010 NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships at Sagamore Golf Club in Noblesville, Indiana. The Seawolves, who are looking to defend their national championship from last season, shot a 313 and are tied for ninth with Lynn University.
Bauer is tied for sixth on the individual leaderboard with five others, two strokes behind the leader Ben Vertz from Nova Southeastern, who carded an even-par 72 in Tuesday's opening round. Four other golfers are tied for second with a 73.

Janssen Todd, the NCAA Division II West/Central Regional individual medalist two weeks ago at Palm Desert, finished with an 82.
Nova Southeastern fired a 299 to lead the field of 20 teams, with Florida Southern (303) and Ferris State (305) finishing in second and third, respectively.
California Collegiate Athletic Association-rival Chico State ended day one in fourth place, shooting a 307. The Wildcats' Kyle Souza and Lucas Delgado also tied with Bauer, carding a 74. Cal State Monterey Bay sits in sixth (310) and Cal State Stanislaus is in last place (328).
