EQUITY IN ATHLETICS DISCLOSURE ACT (EADA)
  • In compliance with the Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA), the Sonoma State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics posts the athletic programs participation rates and financial support data on the athletics website by October 15th of each year.  The EADA is designed to make prospective student-athletes aware of the school’s commitment to providing equitable athletic opportunities for its men and women students.  Information on the EADA is published in the following location:

COMPLETION/GRADUATION RATES FOR STUDENT-ATHLETES
  • This disclosure provides information on the completion or graduation rate, by race and gender within each sport, of a cohort of certificate- or degree-seeking, full-time undergraduates who received athletically related aid and completed their program within 150 percent of the normal time for graduation or completion. 
  • The Higher Education Act of 1998 (and its 2008 re-authorization) requires Sonoma State to provide this information to a student and the student’s parents at the time the institution offers the student athletically-related student aid.  Students who did not receive the disclosure should contact the athletics department.  Information on the completion/graduation rates for student athletes is published in the following locations:

INDEPENDENT ACCOUNTANT'S REPORT ON APPLYING AGREED-UPON PROCEDURES
  • Pursuant to NCAA Bylaw 7.3.1.5.22.1, at least once every three years, all expenses and revenues for or on behalf of a Division II member institution's intercollegiate athletics programs, including those by any affiliated or outside organization, agency or group of individuals (two or more), shall be subject to agreed-on procedures approved by the Division II membership (in addition to any regular financial reporting policies and procedures of the institution) conducted for the institution by a qualified independent accountant who is not a staff member of the institution and who is selected either by the institution's chancellor or president or by an institutional administrator from outside the athletics department designated by the chancellor or president. The report created pursuant to the approved procedures shall be completed and presented to the chancellor or president on or before January 15 after the end of the institution's fiscal year. An institution is not required to use the agreed upon procedures in years outside the once in every three-year cycle.
