CARSON, Calif- Despite a game-high 18 kills from
Michelle Fletcher and a .273 team hitting percentage, the Sonoma State volleyball team lost to Cal State Dominguez Hills 3-1 (30-25, 20-30, 30-28, 31-29) on Saturday evening in Carson. The loss was the fifth in the last six games for the Seawolves as they fall to 6-8, 3-7 CCAA. The Toros improve to 6-10, 3-7 CCAA.
Fletcher's 18 kills came on 38 attempts. She hit .316 for the night and also had a hand in four blocks.
Lindsay Webb,
Rachel Sagapolu, and
Sarah Illingworth all had 11 kills for Sonoma State.
Lillian Harms, one of the national leaders in digs, had 21 more in her pursuit of the school's all-time record.
Penina Suddeth paced the Toros with a 14 kill, 21 dig double-double. She had a trio of teammates, Timary More, Courtney Spainhour, and Arreana Peoples, with 13 kills each.
Sonoma State hit over .300 in each of the last three games and outhit the Toros .273 to .244 for the night.
The Seawolves will return home to host Humboldt State (Wednesday) and Cal State Monterey Bay (Friday) next week.
