Seawolves Tie Wildcats In CCAA Tournament Preview

CHICO, Calif-  Sonoma State and Chico State played to a 0-0 tie on Sunday afternoon, adding more intrigue to next weekend's CCAA Championship Tournament.  The Seawolves (12-5-3, 10-3-3 CCAA) will face the Wildcats (12-3-4, 12-2-2) again next Friday in the tourney opener.

Sonoma State beat Chico State 1-0 in Rohnert Park back in September.

While the Wildcats accounted for ten of the first 11 shots in the match, they were unable to get anything into the net behind SSU goalkeeper Carissa Amiral.  Sonoma State turned the tide and outshot Chico 4-1 in overtime, but they too were unable to get the game-winner.

Amiral's shutout was her seventh of the season.  The Santa Rosa native made three saves and was helped by two others from the SSU defense.

Humboldt State and UC San Diego will meet in the other CCAA Tournament semifinal on Friday in La Jolla.
More tournament information will be posted on Friday.
