Cal State Stanislaus Hangs On To Win SSU Invitational

SANTA ROSA, Calif-  Cal State Stanislaus shot a 298 on Tuesday to hold on to their lead and win the 2006 SSU Golf Invitational at the Santa Rosa Golf and Country Club.  The Warriors shot 869 over the two-day event to edge host Sonoma State by four strokes.  The Warriors' Eric Justesen captured individual medalist honors with a 68-67-72 (207) for the tournament.

Despite seemingly ideal conditions just about every team shot higher on Tuesday than they had on Monday.  All teams were within nine shots of each other on Tuesday, the high a 304 and the low a 295.

Cal State San Marcos had the best score of the day at 295 to pull into a third place tie with Notre Dame de Namur.  Low round of the day belonged to Kory Storer of Notre Dame de Namur, who shot 70.  The lowest round of the tournament was a 67, shot by Jarin Todd in round one on Monday and Eric Justesen in round two.

Justesen was followed in the individual standings by Kyle Hopkins (210) of Sonoma State and Scott Conway (210) of Cal State San Marcos.  SSU's Jarin Todd was fourth at 213.
