Volleyball Downed By Cal Poly Pomona, 3-0

POMONA, Calif-  Despite a big night from Michelle Fletcher, the Sonoma State volleyball team was swept 3-0 (31-29, 30-23, 30-26) by Cal Poly Pomona on Friday night in Pomona.  Fletcher finished with 17 kills and a .500 hitting percentage, but it wasn't enough for the Seawolves as they fall to 9-12, 6-11 CCAA.  The Broncos avenged a loss to SSU earlier in the season and improve to 8-14, 5-12 CCAA.

The Seawolves hit just .145 as a team and got 17 of their 45 total kills from Fletcher.  Rachel Sagapolu was second on the squad with eight kills.  Lillian Harms posted 14 digs and became just the second SSU player to record 500 digs in a season, finishing the night with 501.  Kendall Leatherberry had 19 assists and Sarah Illingworth went for four blocks.

Cal Poly Pomona was led by 15 kills and a .583 hitting percentage from Vanessa Williams.  Williams also had seven blocks, sharing game-high honors with Antoinette Kathol.  In all, the Broncos had 14 blocks to SSU's six.

The Seawolves will play conference front runner Cal State San Bernardino on Saturday night.
