Seawolves Sluggish In Loss To Lumberjacks

Lillian Harms had 21 digs in Wednesday's loss to Humboldt State.

ARCATA, Calif-  Humboldt State rolled to a 3-0 (30-28, 30-18, 30-24) over Sonoma State in the CCAA volleyball opener for each team on Wednesday night in Arcata.  After winning their first three games of the year, the Seawolves have now lost two in a row, falling to 3-2, 0-1 CCAA in the process.  The Lumberjacks improve to 4-1, 1-0 CCAA.

The loss was the first to Humboldt State since 1996, a span of seven games. 

The Seawolves hit just .041 on the night, the second straight game they've managed to hit under .100.  The 'Jacks, on the other hand, hit at a solid .241 clip and outblocked the Seawolves 11-2.

Katie LeBeau led Sonoma State with eight kills.  Megan Moore was tops with 17 assists and three service aces while Lillian Harms posted a team-high 21 digs.

Katie Norkunas and Kristen Kinzer led Humboldt State with 11 kills apiece.

Sonoma State will try to pick up their first conference win this Saturday when they travel down the coast to play Cal State Monterey Bay.  The Otters went 2-2 at the Seawolf Spike Tournament last weekend, though they did not play against SSU.
