ROHNERT PARK, Calif- Lauren Redfield turned in 18 points and 15 rebounds to lead Sonoma State to a convincing 76-51 win over San Francisco State on Saturday evening in Rohnert Park. The win evens out the Seawolves' CCAA record at 4-4 as they go to 5-7 overall. The Gators drop to 3-9, 3-4 CCAA.
Sonoma State came out firing on all cylinders in the first half, using a 20-2 run to take a commanding 46-19 lead at the break. SF State turned up the intensity in the second half, cutting the lead to 13 by virtue of 16 SSU turnovers, but they never really chanllenged for the lead.
Redfield had a double-double in the first half with 13 points and 11 rebounds. In fact, her rebound total in the first half was just two less than the entire Gator team. She finished out the night with a career-high 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting.
Sonoma State also got 15 points from Chelsey Armacost and Genny Anderson as they shot 44% on the night.
SF State was led by 13 points and eight rebounds by Krystle Mays. Chloe Grimm pitched in with 12 points.
The Seawolves hit the road next weekend when they take on Cal Stae Bakersfield and Cal State L.A.
