Volleyball Shut Out By No. 2 Coyotes

ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  Sonoma State fell in three straight to No. 2 Cal State San Bernardino on Friday night in conference volleyball action in Rohnert Park.  The loss snaps a two-game winning streak for SSU against nationally-ranked opponents.  The Seawolves fall to 7-12, 3-7 CCAA.  The Coyotes improve to 18-1, 10-0 CCAA.

Despite a 3-0 final score, the Seawolves played pretty well considering the opposition.  The Coyotes had to battle for victory by scores of 30-21, 30-26, and 30-24. 

The Seawolves led 16-14 in game one before the Coyotes rolled on and they started out game two with eight straight points before CSUSB found their bearings.

The Coyotes hit .259 for the game, led by 18 kills from Jessica Granados.  Ashtin Hall supplied 11 kills and Sara Hoffman guided the offense with 38 assists.  Meghan Haas posted 24 digs on the defensive side.

Sonoma State got 11 kills from Kristy Sather and a solid nine kill, .304 hitting performance from Kaylee AizenstadtTaylor Manton had 24 digs and Lindsay Brown went for 27 assists.

The Seawolves will host another tough opponent, Cal Poly Pomona, tomorrow night at 7:00 pm.
