Women's Soccer Blanked By SF State, 3-0

ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  San Francisco State's Zoila Marquez had a goal and an assist to lead her Gators to a 3-0 win over Sonoma State on Sunday afternoon in Rohnert Park.  The loss leaves the Seawolves at 8-7-2, 4-7-2 CCAA.  The Gators improve to 7-8-2, 5-5-2 CCAA.

San Francisco State took advantage of an early opportunity in the tenth minute when Myriah Johnson scored out of a scramble in front of the net.  SFSU would score again 13 minutes later when Marquez intercepted a pass and quickly sent a laser to the lower right corner of the goal.

The score would remain 2-0 through the end of the first half, but SFSU was quick to tack on another goal just six minutes into the second half.  Marquez sent a perfect cross in front of the net for a waiting Sarah Ruebel, who's header found the back of the net.

The Gators held a 12-7 advantage in shots and a 6-1 edge in corner kicks.

Prior to the game, Sonoma State's three seniors (Tiffany Chappell, Jessica Eshia, and Laura Perry) were honored as a part of Senior Day.

The Seawolves will host non-conference Notre Dame de Namur in their final home game of the year, next Wednesday.
