Women's Soccer Falls To No. 25 Toros, 2-0

ROHNERT PARK, Calif-  25th-ranked Cal State Dominguez Hills got goals from Jackie Chavez and Kristen Boskovich to defeat Sonoma State 2-0 in CCAA women's soccer action on Friday afternoon in Rohnert Park.  The loss leaves the Seawolves with a 6-5-1, 2-5-1 CCAA record.  The Toros improve to 9-1-3, 4-1-2 CCAA.

It was the second straight loss for the Seawolves after a six-game unbeaten streak.  At 6-5-1, the Seawolves are still in regional contention, though the loss does deal a blow to their CCAA Tournament aspirations.

The Toros out shot the Seawolves 16-8 in the contest.  CSUDH broke through in the 34th minute when Jackie Chavez scored off a double assist by Kristen Boskovich and Fawna Waldo. 

The score remained 1-0 until the 74th minute when Boskovich put the game out of reach with a goal of her own.  Corrie Hirokawa and Cassie McKay were credited on the play with assists.

The Toros had a 5-4 edge in corner kicks and committed more than twice as many fouls, 18-7. 

Courtney Grixti made five saves in goal for SSU.  Her counterpart, Alyssa Condgen, needed to make just on on her way to the shutout win.

The Seawolves will host No. 4 UC San Diego on Sunday at Seawolf Field.
