CARSON, Calif-  Sonoma State handed conference favorite Cal State Dominguez Hills their first loss of the year, 61-56 on Saturday night in women's basketball action at the Torodome in Carson.  The Seawolves improve to 3-0 overall and go to 1-0 in conference play with the win.  The Toros drop to 3-1, 0-1 CCAA.

The first half featured several impressive streaks by each team.  After Sonoma State went up 10-2 to start the game, CSUDH went on a 17-0 run to capture a 19-10 lead.  From there, the Seawolves turned in an 11-2 run, pulling them even.  That's where the teams would stay for the rest of the half and then through most of the second half.

Chelsey Armacost busted things open with just under nine minutes to go when she nailed a three-pointer to give Sonoma State a 47-44 lead.  The Seawolves would not relinquish that lead, going on to win by five.

Jessica Liang led the Toros with 14 points.  Teammate Alana Bailey posted 12 rebounds in the loss.

The Seawolves will look to keep their streak going on Saturday at Cal State L.A.
